Join my Winter Live Class!
The class is on Saturday 28th December @ 2pm UK time
This holiday season I want to invite you to a special live class where we’ll create this frosty winter wonderland inside a snow globe. I’ll break it down into manageable steps that artists of all levels can have a go at, and you’ll learn some fun techniques to use with gouache.
What You’ll Need
⭐️ For this painting, I’ll be using my 14cm square Hahnemühle sketchbook. It has cotton paper; perfect for layering and blending with gouache; but any good quality watercolor paper will work.
⭐️ On the palette I’ll have: Permanent White, Primary Yellow, Primary Blue, Windsor Green, Prussian Blue, Primary Red, and Burnt Sienna.
⭐️ For brushes I’ll have my 1/2” angled shader, size 8 filbert, size 4 round and size 2 liner, plus a small fluffy mop brush.
⭐️ I’ll also have a white charcoal pencil and paper shield that you’ll find with the globe template below.
Before the Class
Below you’ll find a template for the snow globe that you can transfer to your sketchbook in advance, so we can dive right into painting when the class starts.
On the same page, you’ll also see a template for a shield. We’ll use this near to the end of the class to add a glow around our globe, whilst shielding the dark background. You can make this out of any piece of scrap watercolor paper, and it should be the same curve as your globe.
Mark your calender and I’ll see you soon!
