Painting Sunbeams in gouache

This short and sweet tutorial will talk you through the process of painting a cute little bush in the forest bathed in beams of sunlight.

This is a fun and quick tutorial that talks you through painting an interesting forest background that doesn’t distract from the main focus of the scene (the bush). Then we’ll go through the use of color to create form, texture, light and shadows before adding in our columns of sunlight peeping through the trees above.
